about therapy
Paying attention to ‘difficult’ feelings, experiences and situations can seem too painful or frightening. My experience is that if we can give attention to what hurts or troubles us, it can release energy and tension – physical and emotional. This can help us to start feeling different and better - and to make changes in our lives.
I believe therapy can support this process, by helping us feel safe enough to explore whatever feels difficult. Talking with a sensitive listener who works to understand our experiences - and isn’t involved in our wider lives - can make a difference.
As a therapist, I try genuinely to understand and accept people and their experiences as they really are, however painful, shameful or ‘trivial’ they might seem to them.
Just as with other relationships, some therapists and clients are a better ‘fit’ than others. I encourage you to talk with several therapists, before deciding who to try working with.

about me
I have worked with people for 14 years and got my psychotherapy Master’s degree in 2020 (details below). A long time ago, I studied Politics, Philosophy and Economics at the University of Oxford. I’ve also worked in the media and for charities. Originally I'm from Birmingham but have spent most of my life in London.
I have regular supervision and develop my knowledge and skills through professional literature and training. From 2019-2024, I volunteered with the Reduced Fee Service at Number 42 - a psychotherapy practice near London Bridge. I am also a full clinical member of UKCP - a professional organisation of therapists, whose ethics code I follow. You can see my UKCP profile here.
My qualifications: I have a Master's degree in Contemporary Person -Centred Psychotherapy and Applications from Middlesex University and a diploma in person-centred psychotherapy from Metanoia Institute. I also have an introductory training in Focusing, certified by the British Focusing Association.
